The first game was a bit of a chore to play through and you had to grind mercilessly. The gameplay of MapleStory 2 is what makes it so much better than the first.

If you love a game that lets you get creative and tinker, MapleStory 2 is going to be something you have a lot of fun with. You can buy your own plot of land to build on and you can also decorate the inside of your house. It is not just the character you can customize. What is really neat is that once you are in the game, there are plenty of places you can go to get new items of clothing for your character. I could easily have spent a couple of hours playing around customizing my character. One that made my character look like Link from the Legend of Zelda and another that was a steampunk version of myself. For example, I was dabbling with two designs. You can really go all out and give your character any kind of style and personality you want. Character Customizationīefore we get to the game I have to mention how in depth the character customization tools are. The world that they have created here is great and features all the “fantasy” elements that you would expect in a good MMORPG. It now is in 3D and it has a very interesting art style that I would say walks the line between looking like Minecraft and Overcooked and I mean that as a good thing. The original MapleStory was a 2D sprite-based grind fest of an RPG. That is not needed now as MapleStory 2 is finally released here in the West.

People in the East had been enjoying the game for a few years and some had even played the Korean version of the game. MapleStory 2 is one of those games that felt like it took forever to finally make its way to gamers in the West.
